Giancarlo Stanton went 2-for-3 with one RBI, two runs scored and a walk during the Marlins' 5-4 win over the Phillies on Tuesday.
Stanton remains one of the hottest hitters in all of baseball of late, now going 10-for-24 (.417 BA) with two extra-base hits, three RBI and six runs scored over his last six games. Although his power stroke cooled off a bit in the month of June, Stanton remains a top tier fantasy option as we head into the second half of the season, hitting .316 with 21 home runs and 61 RBI through his first 313 at-bats. Marc Krauss went 1-for-4 with a solo home run on Thursday in Toronto.
Krauss is hitting only .150 with a .350 slugging percentage after launching his first home run of the season. It was just his seventh game of the season, but there’s no doubt he’ll need to cut down on the strikeouts if he’s ever going to be able to showcase the decent pop he has. The left-handed hitter was called up from AAA to try and infuse some offense in Anaheim and was slugging .639 over his past 10 games. With Matt Joyce really struggling, expect Krauss to steal some of his at-bats over the next few weeks. Analysis: Kevin Luchansky
