Zack Greinke gave up just one run on four hits with no walks and 10 strikeouts over seven innings against the Cardinals on Saturday.
Greinke was back to his dominant ways on Saturday, improving to 10-4 after posting a 10-strikeout performance. After allowing five runs in his previous outing, Greinke bounce back nicely and is now sitting on a 2.78 ERA and 1.17 WHIP through his first 17 starts, while maintaining an impressive 111:20 K:BB rate over 103.2 innings. He will look to keep moving in the right direction when he takes on the Rockies on Thursday at Coors Field. ANALYST: Matthew Beck
Eduardo Rodriguez will start Thursday in Texas for the Red Sox.
The Red Sox were considering bringing Rodriguez up in late April when Wade Miley was struggling but now they may consider him a potential replacement for the nightmare that is Joe Kelly. He'll start Thursday to stay on his regular throwing schedule and this may only be a spot start/audition, but keep an eye on him especially if there's a chance he joins the rotation. Wil Myers (wrist) is improving but not close to returning.
It's not so much that he isn't close to returning, it's that the Padres are being very cautious with him and have not set a timetable for him to start swinging a bat. Once he does start, it might not be too long before he lands on a rehab assignment. The team is hoping for an early-to-mid June return, but we'll just have to wait and see. Analysis: Howard Bender
