Freddie Freeman went 3-for-5 with a home run, four RBI and a run scored against the Phillies on Friday.
Freeman has started to heat up of late, going 8-for-23 (.348 BA) over his last six games, as he inches closer to the .300 average mark once again. He is currently slashing .291/.377/.507 with 13 home runs and 41 RBI through 306 at-bats while sitting on a career-best 23.0 AB/HR. Although his home run pace is not too far ahead of last season's output, he is no his way to setting a career-high in the category if his first half success carries on through the stretch run. Cameron Maybin went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday’s 7-1 loss to the Mets.
Maybin is seeing plenty of time in center field for the Braves right now, as he is a strong defensive player with exceptional range. At the plate, he has been anything but consistent, going just 4-for-28 over the last eight games. However, Maybin has displayed an unexpected power stroke, as three of those hits have left the yard. With enough at-bats, the fleet-footed 28 year old could have a shot at 15/15 production with regards to homers and steals. Analysis: Nate Miller
