Houston is finalizing a deal to send Omer Asik to New Orleans.
The deal is for cash and a protected first round draft choice. The Rockets are freeing up nearly $15 million which will hopefully give them enough to sign either LeBron James or Carmelo Anthony to a max deal here in the offseason. The Pelicans get Dwight Howard's back-up who will now pair with Anthony Davis.ANALYST: Howard Bender
Jed Lowrie left Monday's game with a thumb injury. He's going back to Houston Tuesday for an MRI.
In all likelihood Jonathan Villar or Marwin Gonzalez will fill in for Lowrie if he misses extended time, but there's an outside chance the first-place Astros call up uber-prospect Carlos Correa for his first major league taste. Correa is murdering the Texas League (Double-A) to the tune of .375/.429/.719 with four home runs and two stolen bases. He's worth a speculative add in competitive leagues until the situation becomes more clear. Astros GM Jeff Luhnow has hinted that he wouldn't be scared to "lift" Correa straight from Double-A at some point. Analysis: Spencer Silva
