Adrian Beltre went 4-for-4 with an RBI in Tuesday's 8-2 loss to the Tigers.
Beltre is now 8-for-20 (.400 BA) over his last five games, but has just one extra-base hit and one RBI to show for it. Although he missed a significant amount of time due to injury earlier in the season, he has managed to produce when healthy, sporting a .321 average with eight home runs and 36 RBI through 240 at-bats. He remains one of the top third base options in all fantasy formats moving forward. ANALYST: Matthew Beck
Ryan Ludwick has been told he will not make the Rangers.
Ludwick is considering his options at the moment, which include going down to Triple-A until the big league club needs his services, or requesting a release and looking for another team that can offer him a spot on the 25-man roster. No matter what happens, though, he is not going to be fantasy relevant. Ludwick's calling card is power, but he last hit over 20 home runs in 2012 with 26 (and before that was in 2009), and the now-36 year old is only losing power potential at this point. Brady Aiken announced Thursday that he had Tommy John surgery.
This is unfortunate for Aiken as he now probably wishes that he signed with the Astros last summer after being the number one pick in last year's draft. Instead, he suffered an arm injury last week and will now be on the shelf for the next year. He still has a high ceiling, but his overall value is definitely diminished at this point.
