Dillon Gee is scheduled to make a rehab start with the Gulf Coast League Mets on Tuesday.
Gee said that he was feeling great after his bullpen sessions and was ready to start his minor league rehab assignment, so the Mets will start him off light in the Gulf Coast League. He will be evaluated after this outing before the Mets establish a game plan for him, and how fast he advances will be determined on a start-by-start basis.ANALYST: Howard Bender
The Cardinals have released Darnell Dockett.
This comes as a bit of a surprise, as only two days ago the Cardinals claimed to be turning their attention to re-signing Dockett now that Fitzgerald's contract is all taken care of. Most likely, this is due to Dockett's refusal to take a pay cut, which the Cardinals had said they would need to keep him in town. Dockett missed all of the 2014 season with a knee injury.
