Ervin Santana allowed three runs on six hits and one walk while striking out nine batters over six innings against the Nationals on Sunday.
Despite losing his last three starts, Santana has started to show signs of bouncing back from a rough stretch of outings, now sitting 5-5 with a 4.15 ERA and 1.30 WHIP through 14 starts. Currently, opposing batters are hitting .271 against Santana, which is slightly higher than his career mark of a .254 BAA, so expect an adjustment as he starts to get more innings under his belt, leading to more production along the way.ANALYST: Matthew Beck
Jake Peavy(back tightness) will have next rehab start pushed back a couple of days
Peavy, who had a setback in his rehab on Wednesday, will have his next start moved backed. The move is due to him not being 100 percent physically yet and he is having trouble getting comfortable on the mound. Based on his next start the Giants should layout a plan for his return to the rotation. Pitching depth can't come soon enough as the Giants lead over the Dodgers for first in the NL West is a half game. Analysis: Matt Selz
