J.J. Hardy went 2-for-4 a double, three RBI and a pair of runs scored against the Yankees on Sunday.
Hardy is now 9-for-23 (.391 BA) with a home run, four RBI and three runs scored over his last six games, as he makes a strong effort to bounce back from a very slow start. Despite sitting on a .295 average, Hardy has just one home run and 19 RBI through 251 at-bats, which is a far cry from the three straight 20-plus home runs seasons we have grown accustomed to seeing from him. At this point he will be lucky to reach 10 home runs, which is only going to hurt his fantasy value even more as the season progresses. ANALYST: Matthew Beck
Phillies recalled Cody Asche from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
The Phillies seem ready to commit to Asche as their new starting left fielder which certainly gums up the outfield configuration for veterans like Ben Revere, Grady Sizemore and Jeff Francoeur. It also displaces Darin Ruf. While they may be happy with the defensive work he did down in the minors, Asche's bat never really heated up, so the team is still going to have some serious offensive woes. This plan may have looked good on paper, but it should be re-visited in a couple of weeks to see how things are panning out. Analysis: Howard Bender
