Cole Hamels allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and five walks with eight strikeouts over 7.1 innings against the Cardinals on Saturday.

Hamels saw his scoreless inning streak halted at 23.2 after a Matt Adams sacrifice fly in the second inning plated a run. But while that streak came to a close, Hamels still has a streak of five-straight quality starts and has pitched at least seven innings in each of his last eight outings. The ERA is down to 2.76 but be careful as he threw another 120 pitches in this one and has now thrown at least 115 pitches in four of his last five starts. At some point, we're going to hear about some shoulder fatigue. He'll face the Marlins next week so long as his arm doesn't fall off before that.
