Cole Hamels allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and five walks with eight strikeouts over 7.1 innings against the Cardinals on Saturday.
Hamels saw his scoreless inning streak halted at 23.2 after a Matt Adams sacrifice fly in the second inning plated a run. But while that streak came to a close, Hamels still has a streak of five-straight quality starts and has pitched at least seven innings in each of his last eight outings. The ERA is down to 2.76 but be careful as he threw another 120 pitches in this one and has now thrown at least 115 pitches in four of his last five starts. At some point, we're going to hear about some shoulder fatigue. He'll face the Marlins next week so long as his arm doesn't fall off before that.ANALYST: Howard Bender
Steelers activated WR Martavis Bryant to the 53-man roster.
Bryant was suspended for the first four games of the season and was eligible to return before the Steelers Monday night game in San Diego but injured his knee slightly in practice last week. He should be a safe start in all formats with him regaining the number two spot behind Antonio Brown. With Vick at QB the expectations should be lowered slightly thought. Analysis: Matt Selz
