Albert Pujols (back) is not in the Angels starting lineup on Saturday.

With no recent injury reported, it looks like this could just be a day off for Pujols. Maybe just to clear his head after going 2-for-10 over his last three games. New call-up Efren Navarro will handle the work at first base Saturday.ANALYST: Howard Bender

Clint Barmes went 1-for-4 with a double and three RBI against the Rangers on Wednesday.

Barmes has been used mostly off the bench for the Padres with Wednesday's start being just his fourth start in his last 10 games. Although his production was solid, it is hard to imagine he will earn enough playing time to warrant fantasy consideration in the final month of the season.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

Ian Kennedy allowed just two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out 12 batters over seven innings against the Rangers on Wednesday.

Despite logging eight or more strikeouts for the third time in his last four starts, Kennedy was unable to get back in the win column after his bullpen was unable to hold a lead. He is now sitting 8-12 with a 3.88 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and a 142:45 K:BB rate through 25 starts (141 2/3 IP), which is a major improvement after a poor first half, so fantasy owners should continue to ride him while he is displaying his best stuff of the year. Kennedy will look to get back in the win column when he takes on the Rockies on Monday.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

Cole Hamels allowed three runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out eight batters over seven innings against the Padres on Wednesday.

Although Hamels hasn't exactly performed as well as anticipated, he has allowed three runs or less in each of his last four starts while sitting on a 2-1 record with a 3.89 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and a 41:14 K:BB rate through is first six starts with the Rangers. After serving up five home runs in through his first two starts with his new team Hamels has settled down and has not allowed one since which is an accomplishment in itself pitching in a hitter-friendly ballpark, so fantasy owners should continue starting him with confidence the rest of the way. He will be on the hunt for win No. 3 when he takes on the Mariners on Tuesday.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

Chris Gimenez went 1-for-3 connecting on his fifth home run of the season against the Padres on Wednesday.

Despite a solid showing on Wednesday night, Gimenez is far from being a fantasy option at this point in his career as he has just 11 home runs and 52 RBI while owning a .216 batting average through 496 career at-bats. He should remain on the waiver wire until further notice.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

Adrian Beltre went 1-for-4 with a double and a pair of RBI against the Padres on Wednesday.

Beltre is now slashing .272/.313/.424 with 13 home runs, 47 RBI and 64 runs scored through 448 at-bats as he continues to show signs of his age (36). However, even with his skill set diminishing he is still someone worth starting in all fantasy formats considering the lack of solid third baseman outside of the elite tier.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

Chase Utley went 1-for-4 connecting on his sixth home run of the season against the Giants on Wednesday.

Utley has yet to break out of his shell as he is now just 8-for-40 with four extra-base hits and two RBI since being dealt to the Dodgers. At this point in his career it is hard to imagine he will provide enough production to gain lasting fantasy value, but if his power stroke shows up he makes for a decent add in deep league formats.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

Clayton Kershaw allowed just one run on six hits and one walk while striking out 15 batters through nine innings against the Giants on Wednesday.

Kershaw has been amazing of late as he has now allowed just three runs while owning a 39:2 K:BB rate over his last three starts. He now sits 12-6 with a 2.18 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and a 251:34 K:BB rate through 27 starts and while owning a .199 opponent batting average it is hard to believe he will regress anytime soon. He will look to stay hot when he takes on the Angels on Monday.  Analysis: Matthew Beck
