Ian Desmond went 2-for-6 with a solo home run against the Braves on Friday.
Although Desmond is not hitting for good average this season (.237 BA), he has been a major contributor in the power categories, now sitting with 14 home runs and 45 RBI through his first 274 at-bats while adding in five stolen bases. His increased strikeout rate is something fantasy owners will want to continue to monitor (30.1 percent K Rate), but in all he is one of the better players to roster at his position moving forward. Paul Millsap does not need surgery on his shoulder, just rest.
After the Hawks were eliminated from the NBA Playoffs, it was reported he could need surgery on his sprained right shoulder. Millsap will head into the offseason as a free agent and he is reportedly undecided about how he will conduct his summer. He didn't play well in the playoffs, although it's tough to know how much the shoulder affected his play. Analysis: Spencer Silva
Blue Jays optioned RHP Scott Copeland to Triple-A Buffalo.
Copeland didn't pitch during his short stint back with the club, but recorded three scoreless innings in a previous stint earlier this month. At 27, he's not much of a prospect in spite of having strong success in the International League in 2015. He could eventually establish himself as a swingman for the Jays in the near future.
