Freddie Freeman went 3-for-6 with a home run, one RBI and three runs scored against the Nationals on Friday.
Freeman has been heating up, going 13-for-34 (.382) with eight extra-base hits (1 HR) and seven runs scored over his last seven games. The Braves first baseman has been in somewhat of a funk heading into this week, but four multi-hit games have awoken his bat just in time to make a final push before the All-Star break. He is now sporting a .286 average with 12 home runs and 37 RBI through 283 at-bats and should remain a quality contributor even if he is unable to reach 25 home runs for the first time. Bryce Harper went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in the Nationals 3-0 win over the Cubs on Wednesday.
Harper launched his 18th home run of the season on Wednesday as the power everybody expected Harper to have has finally arrived. At 22 years old Harper is currently the best hitting in baseball, sporting a .333 average with 41 runs, 18 home runs and 43 RBI to go with an insane .472 OBP and 1.222 OPS. It may have taken him a bit longer than many had expected since being on the cover of Sports Illustrated at just 16 years old but baseball fans everywhere should take notice as he is finally showing the world just how talented he is.
