Freddie Freeman went 3-for-6 with a home run, one RBI and three runs scored against the Nationals on Friday.
Freeman has been heating up, going 13-for-34 (.382) with eight extra-base hits (1 HR) and seven runs scored over his last seven games. The Braves first baseman has been in somewhat of a funk heading into this week, but four multi-hit games have awoken his bat just in time to make a final push before the All-Star break. He is now sporting a .286 average with 12 home runs and 37 RBI through 283 at-bats and should remain a quality contributor even if he is unable to reach 25 home runs for the first time. Tom Brady completed 23-of-42 passes for 280 yards and three touchdowns in the Patriots 30-24 OT loss to the Broncos on Sunday.
Brady turned in one of his better games of the season and Sunday and while he's certainly had better numbers in previous games it is hard to ignore the lack of weapons on the offensive side of the ball that he had at his disposal with injuries to Dion Lewis, Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola over the last three weeks. Brady tossed three more touchdown passes on Sunday night, connecting with Rob Gronkowski, Scott Chandler and Brandon Bolden for the scores. Late in the fourth quarter the Patriots passing attack suffered another tremendous blow as Rob Gronkowski was carted off with a knee injury which at the time appeared to be severe and yet Brady still managed to drive the Patriots down the field for a game tying field goal try to send the contest into OT. If Gronk is forced to miss any extended amount of time the fantasy impact for Brady will take another big blow as the available offensive weapons will be reduced to the very bottom of the depth chart.
