Freddie Freeman went 3-for-6 with a home run, one RBI and three runs scored against the Nationals on Friday.
Freeman has been heating up, going 13-for-34 (.382) with eight extra-base hits (1 HR) and seven runs scored over his last seven games. The Braves first baseman has been in somewhat of a funk heading into this week, but four multi-hit games have awoken his bat just in time to make a final push before the All-Star break. He is now sporting a .286 average with 12 home runs and 37 RBI through 283 at-bats and should remain a quality contributor even if he is unable to reach 25 home runs for the first time. Ray McDonald has been cleared by NFL in one of two cases.
Apparently there was not sufficient evidence to charge McDonald for the Domestic Violence charge that's been lingering over him since last season. The other charge is a sexual assault charge, which is still being investigated. It's unclear whether or not McDonald will actually miss any time during the upcoming season. Analysis: Spencer Silva
