Twins' manager Ron Gardenhire says it's a bad back for Glen Perkins, not flu-like symptoms, in post-game press conference.
Make up your mind Gardenhire! The Twins closer was desperately missed as Casey Fien came into the game with a one run lead and promptly blew the save and the game by giving up back-to-back home runs. Perkins is an elite closer and should be back closing games in the next few days.ANALYST: Mark Kaplan
Jed Lowrie left Monday's game with a thumb injury. He's going back to Houston Tuesday for an MRI.
In all likelihood Jonathan Villar or Marwin Gonzalez will fill in for Lowrie if he misses extended time, but there's an outside chance the first-place Astros call up uber-prospect Carlos Correa for his first major league taste. Correa is murdering the Texas League (Double-A) to the tune of .375/.429/.719 with four home runs and two stolen bases. He's worth a speculative add in competitive leagues until the situation becomes more clear. Astros GM Jeff Luhnow has hinted that he wouldn't be scared to "lift" Correa straight from Double-A at some point. Analysis: Spencer Silva
