Aroldis Chapman worked out of a jam in the ninth inning to earn his 12th save of the season against the Pirates on Tuesday. He allowed one hit and one walk while striking out three batters in the appearance.

Chapman allowed two base runners in the ninth inning, but was able to work out of trouble to earn his 12th save of the season. He has now converted all but one save opportunity while striking out 33 batters over his first 17.0 innings pitched. ANALYST: Matthew Beck

Lucas Duda (intercostal muscle) is progressing. He took batting practice Friday.

Duda had been held out of workouts to get some rest for his injury and it looks like it has worked. He's back to taking batting practice so the rest and wait approach has worked. Duda had a sneaky good year last year with 30 homers and 92 RBI and could still be a sleeper this year if you need power from your first baseman late in the draft. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Stephen Vogt (foot) will run the bases Friday or Saturday.

Vogt had been held out of most activities out side of hitting drills while resting his foot issue. As of now, the plan looks to have worked as Vogt is progressing and will be running the bases. After trading Derek Norris in the off-season, the Athletics have turned to Vogt to be their starting cather and hope he will be ready for opening day. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Yu Darvish will still have MRI Friday. It's typical Rangers protocol.

Darvish left his start on Thursday with right tricep tightness, so there could be bad news abound for Rangers fans and fantasy owners. The right-hander has been one of the best starting pitchers in drafts with his high strikeout rate and been voted in the top 10 of Cy Young voting for the first two years in the MLB. Keep an eye on him because if the injury is not as serious, his value might be the same, but he might slip in drafts and become a nice steal for fantasy owners. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Yunel Escobar is having his back examined by a doctor today. Manager Matt Williams is not terribly concerned.

The back stiffness doesn't appear to be a major issue but the team would rather err on the side of caution. They do have Danny Espinosa in reserve, so even if it is something that could keep Escobar sidelined for more than just a few days, the team is already well-covered. Analysis: Howard Bender

Mike Carp was scratched from Friday's lineup due to a toe injury.

The injury is nothing too serious and shouldn't keep Carp out for very long. That being said, he's fighting for a roster spot, so he doesn't want to sit for too long. Fantasy -wise, he's not going to be much of an option unless Ryan Zimmerman finds himself on the DL. Analysis: Howard Bender

Patrick Beverley, Terrence Jones remain questionable Friday.

Neither player has missed a game recently but Beverley is dealing with a foot issue and Jones has a stiff back. Consider them game time decisions, but it looks like both should be able to play. Analysis: Howard Bender
