FANTASY PLAYER UPDATES & NEWS

Carlos Santana went 1-for-3 with an RBI and an run scored in Tuesday's 9-3 loss to the Angels.

Santana may be having a poor season overall, but the Indians catcher turned infielder is now hitting .333 with three home runs and 10 RBI in the month of June, as he tries to turn it around before the halfway point. Although his batting average is still under the Mendoza Line (.193 BA), his power production is worthy of roster consideration if he was dropped after a slow start. ANALYST: Matthew Beck

Chandler Parsons (ankle) said he hopes to play Monday against the Pelicans.

Parsons has missed three games due to an ankle injury, but he's making progress and has shed his walking boot. He'll do some more workouts with the ankle on Saturday, and depending on how the injury reacts, he could be back by mid-next week. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Kyle Lowry is expected to miss Monday's game in Philadelphia.

Lowry is getting the day off on Saturday, due to a combination of rest and minor injuries. The Raptors will probably go ahead and give him an extended break to nurse his injuries by keeping him out on Monday. Hopefully he comes back healthy and fresh and can get back on track after a rough February. Analysis: Ben Diamond

After being released Wednesday, Reggie Bush said he has no plans on retiring.

Bush can still be a very useful and productive running back despite his release from the Lions recently. His health will be essential for the 29-year old to succeed, but if he finds the right team, he could rack up great receiving totals at the running back position. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Henry Walker will start for the Heat on Saturday.

Walker has played just three games so far for the Heat, but apparently they have liked what he's done, as he'll see more chances with the start on Saturday. 30-plus minutes of playing time could give him nice value in fantasy. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Bojan Bogdanovic will play Saturday off the bench.

Thanks to Markel Brown's hot play, Bogdanovic will come off the bench in his first game back from an ankle injury which kept him out of three games. As long as Brown plays well, Bogdanovic will have minimal fantasy value. Analysis: Ben Diamond

LeBron James (back) did travel to Houston and is not on the Cavaliers injury list.

It sounds like the Cavs are just trying to keep their star healthy and fresh, which is why he missed Friday's game. He should not have any issues with his back at the moment and will very likely be good to go for Sunday's game. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Coach Rick Carlisle says Tyson Chandler is a game time decision against the Nets Saturday.

Chandler has a chance to play on Saturday, after missing a game with a hip contusion. The fact that he practiced fully on Friday bodes well for his chances of playing, but if he cannot, Bernard James is a decent option in daily leagues. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Coach Flip Saunders said Anthony Bennett, remains two weeks out with a sprained right ankle.

Bennett was hoping to return around the March 7th game, but now it seems like he's out until March 14th or more. It is unknown whether he suffered a set back or if recovery has just been slow, but he'll be out for a while longer and that should open the door for Adreian Payne to see some more playing time. Analysis: Ben Diamond

DeMarcus Cousins is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Trail blazers.

Cousins will very likely miss Sunday's game due to an ankle injury, which has already cost him Friday's game. Jason Thompson is the best candidate to fill in for Cousins, and if he does start, he is a nice, cheap play in daily leagues. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Update: Chris Andersen (illness) will not play Saturday.

Andersen will miss the game due to an illness, but no player will see much of an increase in value with Andersen out thanks to Hassan Whiteside's emergence.  Analysis: Ben Diamond

Amir Johnson is back in the Raptors starting lineup on Sunday.

Johnson has been on a bit of a cold streak, which led to his benching on Friday. He'll get another chance in the starting lineup, though, and hopefully he can improve with more playing time. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Carlos Gonzalez (knee) will begin running the bases next week.

The oft-injured outfielder will continue to make his way back from knee surgery that he needed last summer, and he should be 100% for opening day. He's never a good bet to play over 130 games, but if he can manage just that, he could certainly be a top-10 OF Analysis: Ben Diamond

Troy Tulowitzki (hip) will begin running the bases next week.

Tulo underwent hip surgery last season, which ended his year, but he is doing well and should be unrestricted soon. Similar to his teammate Carlos Gonzalez, he'll put up elite production if healthy, but that's a huge if.  Analysis: Ben Diamond

Update: Kyle Lowry (rest) will not play Saturday.

Lowry has had a large workload lately and will get a break on Saturday. Louis Williams will likely get the start at point guard. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Coach Dwane Casey said he is looking to get Kyle Lowry some rest ahead.

Lowry has looked sluggish lately, fighting through a couple of injuries while still playing big minutes. This has led to some weaker numbers of late, so hopefully some rest will help him get back on track. Analysis: Ben Diamond
