FANTASY PLAYER UPDATES & NEWS

Gregory Polanco made history Sunday after going 2-for-5 with a run scored in losing effort to the Marlins on Sunday.

Polanco became the first Pirates player to have at least one hit in each of his first six career MLB games since Roberto Clemente accomplished the feat back in 1955.ANALYST: Michael Pichan

Tony Parker will play Friday night.

Parker is fighting through an Achilles issue, but he'll play through the pain and does not expect to miss time. That being said, he could end up playing a few less minutes than usual on Friday. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Hisashi Iwakuma (lat strain) has been placed on the 15-day disabled list.

This is a tough blow for the Mariners, who have struggled with their starters this season. Iwakuma's stuff has been off, and that's been made apparent with his 6.61 ERA in 16 1/3 innings. There is currently no timetable for his return. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Mariners have recalled Lucas Luetge from Triple-A Tacoma.

Luetge will replace Hisashi Iwakuma (lat strain) on the active roster, but is unlikely to see much high leverage action for the time being.  Analysis: Ben Diamond

Giants outfielder Justin Maxwell earned his fourth straight start Friday against the Rockies. He is batting .417 (5 for 12) with one triple, one home run and three RBI in his last four games.

Maxwell has been on fire recently, and he'll likely continue to start as long as he's hitting. With Hunter Pence out until around mid-May, Maxwell has no immediate threat to playing time. He's unlikely to keep this up for long, but fantasy owners in deeper leagues would be smart to grab him for now and reap the rewards. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Twins reliever Tim Stauffer admits that he's not "where I'd like to be at this point in the year.

Stauffer has pitched five innings and has a 5.00 ERA, with his changeup and fastball not up to par as previous seasons. He'll have to put in some extra work to catch up, though if he continues to struggle he could be sent down. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Jake Marisnick (leg) was scratched from the Astros starting lineup on Friday. Robbie Grossman will replace him.

Marisnick is also expected to miss Saturday's game with the issue. No other details have been reported, so it is hard to tell how long he'll be out for. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Alex Cobb's (forearm) bullpen session went well on Friday, and he may be scheduled to throw another one Monday.

The Rays have taken it very slowly with Cobb, but he's reported no issues and should be back by mid-May if all continues to go well. Cobb has top-20 SP upside, though health is a big question mark for Cobb. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Bojan Bogdanovic will be in the Nets' starting lineup again on Saturday.

Bogdanovic replaced Markel Brown in the starting lineup for Game Two of the Nets' series and will likely stick at starting shooting guard for the foreseeable future. Analysis: Ben Diamond

David Lee will be available for Game 4 on Saturday.

Lee did not play in the Warriors' last game due to a back injury, but he should be healthy enough to log some minutes in Saturday's game. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Angels have traded Josh Hamilton to the Texas Rangers.

The Angels were done with Hamilton after his relapse and following shenanigans, with the Angels acting very inappropriately considering the situation. He'll be sent to his former club, the Rangers, and there will not be a player coming back in the deal to the Angels. Hopefully a (sort of) fresh start with Texas will help Hamilton to bounce back. Analysis: Ben Diamond
