The Chicago Cubs have talked with multiple teams about trades involving ace Jeff Samardzija and veteran starter Jason Hammel.

Samardzija and Hammel are two of the bigger trade chips the Cubs will be dealing this season. How long they will wait to make the moves is not yet known, but there are a number of teams who are likely to be considered buyers on the market, so it might take a while before they find the deal they like.ANALYST: Howard Bender

Did Gregorius said his left wrist is improving and should be able to take batting practice on Tuesday.

Gregorius is expected to be in the Yankees Opening Day lineup despite dealing with a wrist injury with only one week left before the start of the season. Barring any setbacks this week, his fantasy value should not take much of a hit considering the injury is not of the severe variety.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

James Russell has been released by the Braves on Sunday.

Russell was granted an unconditional release on Sunday after give up nine runs through 7.2 innings this spring. There is a chance he signs on with a new organization, but he is far from the fantasy spotlight at this point in his career.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

Alex Cobb says he felt good one day after throwing his first bullpen session and is expected to play again Monday.

Despite feeling good after throwing on Saturday, Cobb is expected to miss about a month of action as he continues to battle back from a forearm injury. However, this type of situation does lead to great value for those looking to add Cobb as he is slowing slipping down draft boards as Opening Day approaches.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

The Astros have reassigned LHP Darin Downs, C Tyler Heineman, RHP James Hoyt, IF Gregorio Petit, RHP Jake Buchanan and C Max Stassi to minor-league camp.

No surprises here as the Astros try to get their roster down before Opening Day. Of these players it is hard to believe any will reach the big leagues in 2015.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

Top prospect Carlos Correa was sent to minor-league camp on Sunday and will begin the season at Class AA Corpus Christi.

Correa is viewed as one of the top prospects in all of baseball and should reach the big league level at some point this season if all goes well in the minors, which it has through the early portion of his career. However, it would be a reach to target him on draft day as he makes more for a solid add once in the big show.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

The Astros optioned Matt Dominguez to minor-league camp on Sunday

After playing in the majors each of the last two seasons with the Marlins and the Astros it appears he will have to prove to his team that he is still a big league caliber player. At best, Dominguez can provide the long ball for desperate owners if he makes it back to the big leagues, but his batting average (career .233 BA) is hard to live with if that situation arises.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

David Lough (back) says he feels no pain but will be held out of Sunday's split squad game in the hopes to return to action on Monday.

Lough has been suffering from back spasms all week so it is no surprise to seem him not with the team on Sunday. Even if he is able to be ready for Opening Day it is hard to imagine he will ever have much fantasy value as he is known for his glove and not his bat.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

Chris Kaman came off the bench to scored 14 points (7-12 FGA) with nine rebounds, two assists and two blocks against the Nuggets on Saturday.

Kaman now averaging 9.0 points and 11.0 rebounds since returning from a shoulder injury two games ago despite playing under 20 minutes in each contest. Despite a nice showing he will need to receive more playing time before gaining any lasting fantasy value the rest of the way.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

Aaron Afflalo scored 21 points (8-11 FGA, 4-4 FTA) with five rebounds and two steals during the Trail Blazers' 120-114 win over the Nuggets on Saturday.

Afflalo had himself a night on Saturday as he managed to score in double figures for the first time in six games. Despite the nice showing Afflalo is far from a fantasy option at this point in the season as he remains a secondary option in the Blazers offense.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

Damian Lillard scored eight points (4-11 FGA) with three rebounds, 10 assists and one steal during Saturday's win over the Nuggets.

Lillard has been struggling with his shot of late as he has now shot under 40.0 percent from the field in three straight games. Despite his recent lack of production he is still a must-start in all formats as he remains one of the best point guards to own on the year.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

Nicolas Batum scored 15 points (6-8 FGA, 3-5 3PT) with two rebounds, seven assists and two steals against the Nuggets on Saturday.

Batum was able to play in his second straight game after missing time due to a back injury, recording 30 minutes of action in back-to-back games. As long as he remains in the starting lineup, he is a solid fantasy option as he can give owners a little of everything on a nightly basis.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

LaMarcus Aldridge scored a game-high 32 points (13-20 FGA, 5-6 FTA) with 11 rebounds and two assists during the Trail Blazers' 120-114 win over the Nuggets on Saturday.

Aldridge was on top of his game on Saturday night as he scored a game-high 32 points to help the Blazers to their third straight win. He has been a solid contributor all season and remains an elite fantasy option as long as he can continue to play through the pain in his non-shooting hand.  Analysis: Matthew Beck

Jameer Nelson came off the bench to score 22 points (9-18 FGA, 4-8 3PT) with two rebounds, five assists and a steal during the Nuggets' 120-114 loss to the Trail Blazers on Saturday.

Nelson has picked up the pace of late as he is now averaging 16.8 points and 2.8 three-pointers while shooting 51.9 percent from the floor in his last four games. Although this was a solid performance, he will likely cool off as he continues to receive limited minutes.  Analysis: Matthew Beck
