Drew Hutchison tossed seven shutout innings Friday allowing six hits, no walks, and with three strikeouts in the 4-0 road win over the Orioles.
Hutchison continued his pattern of success on the road as he improved to 4-1 with a 1.79 ERA in nine starts away from the Rogers Centere compared to polar opposite results at home where he is 1-3 with an outlandish 8.72 ERA. Fortunately for his fantasy owners Hutchison's next start will be on the road on Wednesday, although that could still be a little bit debatable as it will be in hitter friendly Yankee Stadium, but what may be more concerning is that the Yankees are a predominantly left-handed hitting team so proceed at your own risk.ANALYST: Michael Pichan
Padres recall INF Jedd Gyorko from Triple-A El Paso.
Gyorko will fill in at second for the injured Corey Spangenberg as he heads to the DL. Gyorko was sent down a couple of weeks ago after a very rough start to the season for the Padres. During his stint in Triple-A he appears to have gotten somethings worked out as he's hit .279 with four homers, 9 RBIs, and 8 R in just 16 games. In 46 games with the big club this season he's hitting .210 with two home runs, 11 RBI, and 9 runs scored. Analysis: Matt Selz
GM Brian Cashman says the Yankees are not considering removing CC Sabathia from the rotation.
A 3-8 record on the year and a troubling 5.65 ERA is what is bringing up the questions about Sabathia's stay in the rotation. The Yankees briefly went to a six man rotation with Nova coming back from the DL, but have decided to move Adam Warren out to the pen, where he was dominating last season, and keep Sabathia in the rotation. Sabathia's last start was solid but no run support did not help his cause. It will be interesting to see what New York does going forward and whether they seek a starter at the trade deadline.
