Bengals QB A.J. McCarron has been cleared to throw after dealing with some arm tightness during the first two weeks of organized team activities.
There's still a question as to whether the arm tightness was that serious or if the shutdown was more precautionary than anything else. He's not expected to supplant Andy Dalton, at least not this year, so his recovery will be taken slowly and the rookie season will be all about learning the ways of the NFL.ANALYST: Howard Bender
McCarron was the Bengals fifth-round pick in this year's NFL draft and could find himself as Andy Dalton's backup to start the season. The tightness in McCarron's arm is a nonissue and it should be full speed ahead for the rookie.ANALYST: David Kerr
Jake Marisnick was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored on Thursday night against the Royals.
Jake Marisnick had two hits from the bottom of the order which included a double and a run scored in Houston’s 5 -2 win over Kansas City on Thursday night. His double in the second inning with two outs kept the inning alive and Marisnick scored on a single by Jose Altuve before Yordano Ventura left the game after a rain delay in the second inning. Although Marisnick struggled in the second half, he did finish September/October with a .275 average with three home runs and seven stolen bases. Analysis: Greg Jewett
