Ian Desmond went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple and five RBI against the Giants on Monday.
Desmond is on quite the four-game tear right now, batting .412 with two doubles, one triple, two home runs, nine RBI and three runs scored. The average continues to climb out of the basement with a .238 mark right now and his contribution to the counting stats along the way has been one of the best in the game lately. Continue to run with Desmond moving forward.ANALYST: Howard Bender
Jon Lester said he feels good after his live batting practice session on Friday.
The Cubs have very high expectations after signing the 31-year old lefty to a six-year, $155 million deal in the offseason. The move to the NL should help maintain that 9.01 K/9 he had last season and if he can maintain his usual walk rate and groundball rate, he should be able to keep the ratios down as well. If you miss out on one of the top-tiered pitchers in your draft, a fourth-round Lester isn;t such a bad anchor for your rotation. Analysis: Howard Bender
