New York Knicks are widely expected to reach a deal with Thunder guard Derek Fisher to become their next coach this week.
Tampering be damned. Its hard for me to believe Derek Fisher has the ability to control the ever going drama that is the NY Knicks but with Phil Jackson running the show and a bunch of salary cap space opening up in the coming seasons things could start to turn around especially if they are capable of keeping Carmelo in NY and surround him with complementary talent. Dallas Cowboys are hold off on placing Tony Romo on Injured Reserve in hopes of still making the playoffs.
Oh Jerry. Look, the most reductive outlook you could possibly have on Dallas' playoff chances is that the Cowboys are only two games out of the division lead. But that's ignoring the fact that they're also tied for the worst record in NFC and just one win better that the two worst teams in the league. If the Cowboys were smart, they'd be taking the perspective that they have a very, very good shot of getting a great draft pick. But it sounds like they're taking an approach that's going to cost them draft slots on the belief that Matt Cassel is leading them to the playoff. Freakin' Jerry. Analysis: Brett Talley
Chandler Parsons is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game.
Parsons has been sitting out in back-to-backs this season and will apparently continue to do so for now. The last time Parsons sat, Dirk, Felton, Williams and Matthews all played over 35 minutes, and no other bench guys saw even 20 minutes in Parsons' absence. So if you're looking for an uptick in usage for any Mavs, you should probably count on the other starters getting the extra work. Analysis: Brett Talley
