Timberwolves head coach Flip Saunders said center Nikola Pekovic is finally feeling pain-free after dealing with a sore ankle at the end of the season.
Pekovic is expected to be a staple in the Timberwolves starting lineup for years to come and may become the focal point of the team's offense if they were to lose Kevin Love to free agency this off-season. As long as he enters next season with a full bill of health, he will remain a top 10 fantasy option at the center position. ANALYST: Matthew Beck
Lions placed CB Alex Carter on injured reserve.
It is now officially a lost season for the rookie. He was placed on short-term IR to begin the season, and is now done for the year. He has no stats, and while he says he is healthy, the fact remains that he is too far behind after missing the first nine weeks of the season with the IR/Designated to Return status to open the season. Redskins are working out CB AL Louis-Jean on Tuesday.
He played in nine games with the Bears in 2014, but was released this season out of training camp, having failed to impress the new coaching regime in Chicago. He has decent size at 6'1" for a cornerback, and also flashes good speed for coverage. At present, you do not need to put him on your IDP radar, unless he is signed to the 53-man roster instead of the practice squad. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson
