FANTASY PLAYER UPDATES & NEWS

With two veteran quarterbacks on the roster, rookie Teddy Bridgewater said Thursday he'd be accepting of a backup role to start the season.

A very wise move by Bridgewater who, in so many words, publicly states that he is willing to learn from his veteran predecessors, but still knows that we're talking about Matt Cassel and Christian Ponder here. He may dutifully take a back seat now, but it won't be long before both veterans soil the sheets and the club turns to Bridgewater anyway.ANALYST: Howard Bender
