Glen Perkins picked up his 16th save after throwing a perfect ninth inning with one strikeout against the Brewers on Wednesday.
A slight hiccup Tuesday has been Perkins' only recent blemish as he has allowed just one run over his last eight appearances while notching six saves and posting a 7:2 K:BB over eight innings. With 16 saves, a 3.08 ERA and a 35:6 K:BB over 26.1 innings this year, Perkins remains locked in with strong talent and even stronger job security.ANALYST: Howard Bender
Fernando Rodney has hit a recent rough patch, but said he's put it behind him.
Rodney's closing job is in danger right now, as they 38-year old has already blown a save and has given up in seven runs 3 1/3 innings. Carson Smith could be next in line for saves should Rodney be removed from the job, though Yoervis Medina is another option in the back of the bullpen. As a closer, Rodney will have to have a short term memory and put the issues behind him, as he has a great track record and the stuff is still there for him to succeed in the ninth inning.
