The Rockets plan to decline Chandler Parsons' option, freeing him to become a restricted free agent.
The Rockets are looking to add a big name free agent, so declining Parsons' option is necessary to free up enough cash to do so. It is still very possible that Parsons will be a Rocket next season, but he will get the chance to shop his services this offseason.ANALYST: David Kerr
No surprise here as Pretty Boy Parsons would have become an unrestricted free-agent next year should the Rockets have picked up his option, instead they get the option of matching a team's offer and signing him for longer then extending his option would have allowed.ANALYST: Michael Pichan
Tim Duncan (rest) will not play Friday against Denver.
The Spurs will take advantage of the holiday and give Duncan an extra day of rest and get ready for Saturday against the Hawks. The Spurs could go with LaMarcus Aldridge at center for Friday and use David West at power forward or they could just give Boris Diaw the start. Either way, those are the three players likely to see the extra work in Duncan's absence. Analysis: Howard Bender
