Ervin Santana got back on the winning track Saturday despite allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks with four strikeouts over six innings in the Braves 9-5 road win over the Marlins.
Santana started off the season undefeated with a 4-0 record over his first six starts, but then fatigue probably set in due to his long layoff to begin the season as he went winless over his next three starts (0-2 over that span) before Saturday's victory that brought his season record to 5-2 with a less than respectable 4.10 ERA for a National League pitcher. Now would be a great time to try and move Big Erv as he has seen a big drop in his strikeout numbers having struck out less than seven batters over his last four outings, something that he had not done in his starts prior to that.ANALYST: Michael Pichan
Derrick Favors (back) is probable for Wednesday .
This should be a fun game for Daily Fantasy Players if Favors is able to give it a go for the Jazz against Kenneth Faried and the Nuggets. You will have to wait for further updates but it looks good for Favors' return after a two game absence. If he does play, he should play his normal allotment of minutes as the starting power forward. Trevor Booker will go back to the bench and become basically useless to fantasy owners. Analysis: Drew Phelps
Free-agent RB Stevan Ridley is visiting the NY Jets Wednesday.
This spot does not make sense for Stevan Ridley as he would be competing with Chris Ivory, who is basically the same exact player. They are both early-down running backs who don't contribute much, if anything, in the pass game. Ivory is probably overall the better back with more upside and Ridley would just be part of a rotation with the Jets. Analysis: Drew Phelps
Kevin Martin (hamstring) is probable for Wednesday.
We will have to wait until after Martin has his afternoon nap to see how his hamstring feels but he did not sound confident in taking the court. It is quite impressive that the Wolves' can even field a team at this point with the laundry list of players on their injury report. Martin's owners should have a backup plan ready. if he does indeed sit on Wednesday, Lorenzo Brown and Chase Budinger will continue to see major minutes. Analysis: Drew Phelps
Tony Allen (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday.
After Allen missed Monday night's game, the general thought was that he would miss the rest of the week due to the aggravation to his hamstring. That is looking more and more likely as he has still not seen the practice floor. Vince Carter will get most of his minutes while Jeff Green also benefits. Allen can be dropped in all re-draft leagues. Analysis: Drew Phelps
