Ervin Santana got back on the winning track Saturday despite allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks with four strikeouts over six innings in the Braves 9-5 road win over the Marlins.
Santana started off the season undefeated with a 4-0 record over his first six starts, but then fatigue probably set in due to his long layoff to begin the season as he went winless over his next three starts (0-2 over that span) before Saturday's victory that brought his season record to 5-2 with a less than respectable 4.10 ERA for a National League pitcher. Now would be a great time to try and move Big Erv as he has seen a big drop in his strikeout numbers having struck out less than seven batters over his last four outings, something that he had not done in his starts prior to that.
