Carlos Gonzalez homered in his return to the Rockies starting lineup Friday, a two-run shot in the top of eighth, for his only hit in three at-bats to go with one walk in the loss to the Indians.
CarGo has been dealing with a couple minor injuries including a sore calf and left index finger that caused him to miss four games over the team's last seven, but all looked well as he trotted around the bases for his eighth home run of the season and just his second of the month. Interesting side note, five of his home runs have come on the road this season.ANALYST: Michael Pichan
Kendrys Morales went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored in the Royals 7-1 win over the Twins on Monday.
Morales is raking to start the season, hitting .358 with 12 runs, two home runs and nine RBI as the Royals everyday DH and cleanup hitter. 2014 was a lost year for Morales as he struggled to find a role with the Mariners and Twins but he showed capable of being a productive player over the two seasons prior where he hits a combined 45 home runs over the two years. Morales was one of the more promising offensive players in the league before a devastating ankle injury nearly ended his career in 2010 but if his hot start is any indication of things to come those who took a chance on Kendrys could be in for a solid season.
