Fantasy Player Updates & News  2016 MLB Draft Guide Is Here!

Patriots opened OTA's this week and TE Rob Gronkowski is still a ways off from participating. He's started light jogging, as he continues his rehab.

No one expected Gronk to be ready for OTAs and he's still questionable for the start of training camp as well. He'll continue to recover from his torn ACL, but keep in mind that, as we've seen in the past, he's not exactly a fast healer.ANALYST: Howard Bender

Emmanuel Mudiay finished with 15 points (6-18 FG, 1-4 FT, 2-6 3pt), nine assists and four rebounds in 32 minutes during Sunday’s 101-96 win over the Knicks.

As is common with NBA rookies, Mudiay has been anything but consistent during his roller-coaster rookie season. However, the performance has been mostly positive from the 19-year-old rookie of late. Over the last six games, he has averaged 13.5 points, 6.7 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals Mudiay has contributed at least four assists in 13 consecutive games while scoring double-digit points in 11 of those.  Analysis: Nate Miller

Joffrey Lauvergne put up 12 points (5-11 FG, 2-2 FT) and 10 rebounds in 29 minutes during Sunday’s 101-96 win over the Knicks.

Lauvergne has dealt with a toe injury in recent days and offered next to nothing in terms of fantasy production, but the 6-11 center from France came off the bench for extended run Sunday afternoon and delivered in a big way for the Nuggets. Outside of the team suffering some injuries up front, it simply does not seem Lauvergne will find deliver much fantasy value anytime soon. Analysis: Nate Miller

Will Barton scored 19 points (7-12 FG, 5-6 FT) to go with 11 rebounds and five assists in 29 minutes during Sunday’s 101-96 win over the Knicks.

Barton continues to thrive off the Nuggets bench and finished off a strong week with Sundays effort. Across the last four games, the 25-year-old swingman has reached double-digit points every time out and posted two double-doubles. Overall in that span, Barton has put up per-game marks of 16.8 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists while shooting 52.8 percent from the floor. Analysis: Nate Miller

Danilo Gallinari scored 19 points (4-13 FG, 9-10 FT, 2-7 3pt) and grabbed four rebounds in 37 minutes during Sunday’s 101-96 win over the Knicks.

Despite turning in his lowest point total in the last three games, Gallinari continues to make fantasy owners happy with his scoring. The 27-year-old forward has put up at least 15 points in 11 of the last 12 games with a low of 13. Overall during that span, Gallinari has averaged 22.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.8 treys.  Analysis: Nate Miller

Carmelo Anthony scored 21 points (7-19 FG, 7-8 FT) to go with seven assists and six rebounds in 35 minutes during Sunday’s 101-96 loss to the Nuggets.

Anthony missed this past Fridays contest against the Grizzlies due to soreness in his left knee, but the 13-year veteran got back on track with a solid effort opposite his former team Sunday afternoon. He is definitely not offering much in terms of shooting efficiency these days, but the overall numbers Anthony still offers keep him among the better all-around fantasy options at his position. Analysis: Nate Miller

Kristaps Porzingis finished with 21 points (10-23 FG, 1-3 3pt), 13 rebounds and two blocks in 35 minutes during Sunday’s 101-96 loss to the Nuggets.

After absolutely disappearing in Thursdays loss at Detroit, Porzingis bounced back with a pair of strong performances. The towering rookie has combined for 38 points, 23 rebounds and eight blocks over the last two games, continuing what has been an impressive rookie campaign overall.  Analysis: Nate Miller

Thomas Davis (forearm) is active for Super Bowl 50.

Just two weeks after breaking his forearm in the NFC Championship game and 13 days after the subsequent surgery to insert screws and a plate, the key cog in the middle of the Panthers top-flight defense will play and start in Super Bowl 50. He and Luke Kuechly make up arguably the best MLB duo in the league. Davis' presence will add one more player for Peyton Manning to be concerned with when reading the Panthers pre-snap set. Analysis: Matt Selz

Carmelo Anthony says he's going to rehab his knee by getting in the weight room during the All-Star break.

Melo was able to return to the Knicks lineup on Sunday and had himself a very solid game, despite the loss for New York. The plan is for him to play through it in the remaining games ahead of the break and then hit the weight room to build up strength and stability in the ailing knee. Head coach Derek Fisher believes that he will be fine long-term however if it doesn't get better and the Knicks continue to fall farther out of the playoff race in the Eastern conference, New York may have a decision on their hands. Analysis: Matt Selz

Whiteside went to the bench with an ankle injury.

Whiteside injured the ankle or foot on a rebound and came up limping a bit, so with him just recently coming back from a hip injury it's likely a precautionary move to take him out. He was effective in Sunday's loss however with a double-double off the bench behind starter A'mare Stoudemire. More updates to follow once the extent of the injury and timeframe are better known. Analysis: Matt Selz

Nikola Vucevic finished with 22 points (11-19 FG), nine rebounds and two steals in 35 minutes during Sunday’s 96-94 win over the Hawks.

After his team blew a 13-point lead in the fourth quarter, Vucevic played the part of the hero in Sunday afternoons victory. With the game tied up at 94, the 25-year-old seven-footer drained a fallaway jumper at the buzzer to give Orlando the win. Vucevic has delivered yet another strong week for fantasy owners, averaging 17.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists across four games. Analysis: Nate Miller

Aaron Gordon put up 11 points (3-11 FG, 5-6 FT), 13 rebounds, four assists, four blocks and two steals in 34 minutes during Sunday’s 96-94 win over the Hawks.

Gordon continues to struggle with his shooting of late, but unlike his last two efforts, he put together a tremendous all-around stat line Sunday afternoon. It is probably best to just chalk up his lackluster performances this past Wednesday and Friday to being flukes, as the young forward now has three double-doubles in the last five games and is providing standard-league production most days. Analysis: Nate Miller

Elfrid Payton scored 12 points (5-10 FG, 2-4 3pt) to go with 12 assists and four rebounds in 33 minutes during Sunday’s 96-94 win over the Hawks.

Payton had been mired in a slump over the past couple of weeks, but definitely showed signs of coming out of it Sunday afternoon. The young point guard reached double-digit points for the first time in four games while setting a new season high in assists in the nail-biting win over the Hawks. Analysis: Nate Miller

Evan Fournier scored 21 points (7-14 FG, 4-4 FT, 3-5 3pt) to go with five rebounds and two steals in 43 minutes during Sunday’s 96-94 win over the Hawks.

Fournier put up a couple duds to begin this week, but bounced back with strong efforts both Friday and Sunday. The sweet-shooting swingman has combined for 37 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 48.1 percent from the field and 5-of-10 from beyond the arc over the last two games. Fournier remained a nice source of threes in standard fantasy formats. Analysis: Nate Miller
