George Springer (hip) returned to the lineup and went 2-for-5 with two home runs, five RBI, and two runs scored during the Astros' 9-4 win over the Mariners on Saturday.
Daily League players, hopefully you have fallen into the habit of watching our player news feed prior to setting your lineups. You could have benefited from Springer's big night if you followed our advice earlier in the day when we relayed to you that "Springer is hitting better against right-handed pitching than left thus far with three of his four home runs coming off of righties," which he added to on Saturday. Springer is now hitting .293 (22-for-75) with six home runs, 16 RBI, and 13 runs scored in 19 May games.ANALYST: Michael Pichan
Rajon Rondo has agreed to a one-year deal with the Kings.
There was some late buzz that Rondo could join the Lakers, but instead he'll sign with the Sacramento Kings for a one-year, $10 million deal. Rondo's season fell apart in 2014 after being traded to Dallas, but expectations will still be high for the point guard due to his track record. That being said, last year's meltdown for Rondo was jarring, as his assists per game fell from 10.8 to 6.5, and his rebounds went from 7.5 to 4.5 per game. Hopefully Rondo will become better acclimated with his team in Dallas, as if he can get it together, Rondo could be a key piece in his new team's playoff bid. Analysis: Ben Diamond
Patrick Beverley has agreed to a four-year deal with the Rockets.
The 26-year old will return to Houston after spending his first three seasons with the team, averaging 8.9 points, 3 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per game over his tenure. Last season was his best as a professional, and Beverley will look to earn an expanded role in the backcourt next season after averaging 30.8 minutes last season. The four-year deal is worth $25 million. Analysis: Ben Diamond
