George Springer (hip) returned to the lineup and went 2-for-5 with two home runs, five RBI, and two runs scored during the Astros' 9-4 win over the Mariners on Saturday.
Daily League players, hopefully you have fallen into the habit of watching our player news feed prior to setting your lineups. You could have benefited from Springer's big night if you followed our advice earlier in the day when we relayed to you that "Springer is hitting better against right-handed pitching than left thus far with three of his four home runs coming off of righties," which he added to on Saturday. Springer is now hitting .293 (22-for-75) with six home runs, 16 RBI, and 13 runs scored in 19 May games.ANALYST: Michael Pichan
Carlos Torres has reportedly signed with the Braves.
Torres struggled with the Mets last season, leading them to cut ties with him this winter in favor of veteran left-hander Antonio Bastardo. The Braves likely gave him the best offer in terms of money and opportunity to pitch in a significant role because if winning was his most important objective then he wouldn't have turned down offers from the Yankees and the Dodgers. Terry Rozier will play against the Clippers on Wednesday.
Rozier is a fantasy non-factor due to his meager per game averages and role on the Celtics as a reserve guard. He's currently stuck behind several players in the rotation out-performing him, so expecting him to play any significant time Wednesday night would be irresponsible. Consider other options going forward. Analysis: Dom Murtha
