George Springer (hip) returned to the lineup and went 2-for-5 with two home runs, five RBI, and two runs scored during the Astros' 9-4 win over the Mariners on Saturday.
Daily League players, hopefully you have fallen into the habit of watching our player news feed prior to setting your lineups. You could have benefited from Springer's big night if you followed our advice earlier in the day when we relayed to you that "Springer is hitting better against right-handed pitching than left thus far with three of his four home runs coming off of righties," which he added to on Saturday. Springer is now hitting .293 (22-for-75) with six home runs, 16 RBI, and 13 runs scored in 19 May games.ANALYST: Michael Pichan
Robert Quinn is making progress from his back issue.
After missing Sunday's game, Quinn seems to be making steps toward's returning. Quinn is one of the game's elite pass rushers but has been slowed down by injuries all season long. Quinn is two years removed from a 19 sack season and the Rams are hoping he returns to that when he gets back on the field. Analysis: James Grande
Braves signed P Jim Johnson to a one-year deal.
After saving 50-plus games two consecutive years in Baltimore, Johnson has been a shell of that the past two seasons. He only has 12 saves combined over the past two seasons. He posted a 7.09 ERA in 2014 and a 4.46 ERA in 2015. The Braves are giving him one year to figure himself out or he'll likely have a hard time finding work. He can only hope his sinker starts sinking like it did in Baltimore. Analysis: James Grande
