Ian Desmond went 1-for-3 with a solo home run during the Nationals' 3-2 loss to the Pirates on Saturday.
Desmond is 10 for his last 35 (.286) with three homers, five runs and five RBI. Even with the mini hot streak, however, Desmond is still hitting a decrepit .237/.295/.421--albeit with nine homers. Also, he's only stolen three bags in five attempts (60% success). ANALYST:
Dwyane Wade (knee) is listed as questionable for Friday's game.
Wade didn't play on Wednesday due to a sore knee, so of course he is questionable for Friday. If he isn't in the starting lineup, Mario Chalmers will once again get the start and see a bump in value. Wade has been relatively healthy this season and has produced in a big way in the process. He's averaging 21.6 points and 5.2 assists per game. Analysis: David Kerr
Ross Detwiler has made the Rangers starting rotation.
There are far worse pitchers with starting jobs in baseball, so Detwiler is deserving of this chance. He's bounced back and forth between the starting rotation and the bullpen while pitching for the Nationals, but should settle in as a member of the Rangers' rotation. He has solid value in AL-Only leagues. Analysis: David Kerr
