Joel Embiid (back) will have to undergo extensive evaluation by the Cavaliers, sources say. The team will not rely on independent evaluation.
The Cavaliers are in a unique position as they have the ability to draft one of three potential superstars in Joel Embiid, Andrew Wiggins, and Jabari Parker. This is an important pick for Cleveland, so they won't want to screw it up. Expect extensive evaluations on all three players prior to the June draft.ANALYST: David Kerr
Bears WR Eddie Royal has left practice early on Monday.
Royal left practice on a cart but was able to jog over and hop in with no signs of pain. In training camp, getting taken away on a cart does not mean the same as if it happened during a game. We will have to wait until after practice to get the full report on his reason for heading to the locker room. There are a lot of guys pushing for that number two wide receiver position opposite Alshon Jeffery including Royal, rookie Kevin White and third year wide-out Marquess Wilson. Analysis: Drew Phelps
Bears CB Alan Ball will not practice Monday.
All reports out of training camp say that Ball is fully recovered from his torn biceps injury which he suffered back in October of 2014. This is the first season that he'll be thrust into major playing time after being in a reserve role in Chicago. He has been graded out by Pro Football Focus as better against the run than he did versus the pass. The Bears are giving him a day of rest on Monday. Analysis: Drew Phelps
Bears WR Alshon Jeffery remains out of practice on Monday.
Jeffery suffered a minor AC joint sprain on Sunday but was able to finish practice. He is being held out of practice on Monday for precautionary reasons. He is the assumed number one wide receiver with Brandon Marshall in New York now. This is a contract year for Jeffery and should be in line to put up huge numbers in 2015, if he remains healthy. Braves SS Andrelton Simmons to have an MRI on Monday.
The Braves are positive spin on the injury calling it a sprain but we will have to wait until after the MRI to determine just how severe it really is. Braves Manager Fredi Gonzalez said, "I'm hoping, but I'm always a glass half-full kind of guy." The injury occurred on Saturday while diving for a ball. Analysis: Drew Phelps
Joe Mauer is not in Mondays starting lineup.
The Twins face the Blue Jays newly acquired ace David Price on Monday. They have decided to give Mauer gets a day off against the stud lefty. Trevor Plouffe will take his spot at first base. Even though Plouffe is batting third on Monday, that $3200 price tag on Fanduel this afternoon might be a bit too steep against Price. Eduardo Nunez has one career home run against Price and will bat second and play third base which could make a great value at $2200. Analysis: Drew Phelps
