Jurickson Profar has restrained the same shoulder muscle. He is getting a second opinion.
Profar went from being a perfectly fine DL stash in keeper leagues to a cautionary tale here now. Already slated to miss, pretty much, the entire first half of the season, Profar is likely to be sidelined even longer with this issue. At least it opens the door a little wider for Rougned Odor who should continue to see regular at-bats at the Texas keystone.ANALYST: Howard Bender
LeBron James said trade rumor involving Kevin Love and Knicks' Carmelo Anthony are false.
General manager, coach, and player LeBron James decided to let everyone know that those trade rumors are false. There were trade rumors last season about Kevin Love as well and nothing happened. There is likely merit behind the rumors, but James doesn't want Love to get upset and mess up his run to another title by being distracted, but you better believe he would love for this to happen. Don't be surprised if something like this happens. A LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, and Kyrie Irving back-court would be deadly offensively. Analysis: Mike Cahill
Al Horford is not being actively shopped to any teams at this point.
The Hawks sit at three games out of first place in the Eastern Conference and the only way they should trade Al Horford is if they don't want to offer him a max-contract, which is what he's going to want, and they want to get something in return for him. Atlanta is in the top-half of the league in scoring and top-5 in defense this season. Though the team isn't actively shopping him, they are still entertaining phone calls on him and Jeff Teague. They need to be blown away to accept an trade for one or both of those guys with where they sit in the rankings. Analysis: Mike Cahill
Greivis Vasquez (ankle) is expected to return in 3-4 weeks.
After undergoing surgery to remove a bone spur in December, it seems like a quick recovery but that is no guarantee, just a goal. There is no way that he would go back to his 22.6 minutes-per-game upon returning, with him most likely being eased back into the line-up with such a long absence. With the end of the season in April, the only way Vasquez is worth owning is if Michael Carter-Williams is traded or if one of him and Jerryd Bayless is injured. Analysis: Mike Cahill
Rays manager Kevin Cash expects a healthy competition between Rene Rivera, Hank Conger and Curt Casali behind the plate.
Unless he improved his hitting dramatically, Rene Rivera figures to be at the back of the race between the three. River hit .178 last year in 110 games. He had 86 Ks, 11 walks, a measly 26 RBIs, and he was unhappy with is playing time last year, so expect him to be possibly traded at some time even though he holds almost no value. It appears that Hank Conger and Curt Casali will have a healthy competition though. Both are very close to production so one needs to step up. Conger is a switch hitter and had about the same production in 28 less games than Casali. Look for Conger to be the starter with Casali getting a healthy amount of looks as well. Padres have signed RHP Trey McNutt to a minor league contract.
Let's not forget the Trey McNutt was once considered a top prospect and that he is only 26 years-old. McNutt will have to work his way back after a real lack of playing the last two years. He missed the entire 2014 season after having shoulder surgery and then only pitching in eight innings last year. He did show quite a bit of rust in those eight innings giving up six earned runs with three walks, and four strike-outs. He did get two wins but his ERA was a 6.750. Even if he can't get back to starting status, he could find himself as a really good relief pitcher. Analysis: Mike Cahill
