Jeff Samardzija held the Yankees scoreless over seven innings on four hits and two walks with three strikeouts but again was unable to get a victory as the Cubs lost 4-2 to the Yankees on Wednesday.
Samardzija set an MLB record on Wednesday as his 1.46 ERA is the lowest in the history of baseball, since ERA became an official stat back in 1913, for a pitcher through their first 10 starts of a season. Bet the Mulleted Shark can not wait to get out of CHI Town after breaking this record.ANALYST: Michael Pichan
Johnny Manziel reported for the first day of voluntary workouts Monday.
Manziel has completed his rehab program and is looking to be the team's starting quarterback in 2015. There has been speculation about the Browns drafting a quarterback in this draft, but we will have to wait and see. Their selections in the draft will give us a glimpse of what the organization thinks about Manziel, as well as how they feel about him as their starting quarterback. The draft will be a big indicator to us, and to Johnny Football, about his status in Cleveland. Analysis: Colby Conway
Joe Nathan (elbow) threw a full bullpen session Monday.
Nathan was able to throw off a mound on Saturday, but today was his first full bullpen session since suffering the elbow injury. Joakim Soria has been dynamite as the team's closer, and it is quite possible that he returns from the DL as the team's set-up man, not the closer. This is worth monitoring, especially if you own Nathan or Soria. Analysis: Colby Conway
