Pacers announcing that Paul George suffered a concussion Tuesday.

George said that he blacked out during the fourth quarter after Dwyane Wade kneed him in the back of the head. He showed symptoms almost immediately after the hit but denied issues with vision, which kept him in the game. Testing today revealed that he did suffer a concussion and with the NBA's tough protocol, there's a chance he could miss Game 3. The one ray of hope is that they don't play again until Saturday.ANALYST: Drew Phelps

Hassan Whiteside (hand) will not play on Friday.

The Heat said that it could take up to two weeks for Whiteside's hand to properly heal, but he may be able to play in limited fashion if he were to wear a wrap. With him sitting out, Chris Andersen will get the start at center. Analysis: Howard Bender

Blake Swihart is in the mix for a catcher roster spot if Christian Vazquez is sidelined.

If Vazquez remains sidelined, Ryan Hanigan is likely to open the season as the primary and Swihart will get his work in on-the-job. He and Vazquez have both been tabbed as the team's catcher of the future, but only one of them will get the opportunity right now. The other one will head to Triple-A.  Analysis: Howard Bender

Daniel Murphy (hamstring) resumed running on Thursday, and the team still has not ruled out Opening Day.

The Mets won't decide on Murphy's status until the last possible second. They are not deep at the keystone, so losing him for even a week or two is a big deal for them. He is still worth owning in all leagues, but you may need a contingency for the start of the season. Analysis: Howard Bender

Patriots LB Dont'a Hightower will reportedly be out six-to-seven months after surgery to repair a torn right labrum

Hightower will end up on the PUP list this summer as his recovery could spill into the start of the regular season. There might be a chance he returns in time to participate in some of camp, but it's a remote one. Analysis: Howard Bender

Jayson Werth’s (shoulder) Opening Day status remains in question.

The Nationals have always been hopeful that Werth would return, but it's always been a cautious optimism. He'll continue to tst the shoulder, but if the club feels he might benefit from some extra time before the season then they'll hold him back. It's just a wait and see thing, but even if they do hold him back, it won't be for long. Analysis: Howard Bender

Masher Tanaka has been named the Opening Day starter. Followed by, Michael Pineda, CC Sabathia and Nathan Eovaldi.

So that's the way the Yankees rotation will at least start off. We'll see how long it lasts. Pineda looks like he could be a nice asset this season, but Tanaka is a huge injury risk, Sabathia has a lot to prove if he doesn't want people to believe he's in a serious decline and Eovaldi better watch his fly ball rates in Yankee Stadium. This does not look liek a strong group right now.  Analysis: Howard Bender

Kevin Gausman is scheduled to pitch 5-6 innings on Tuesday.

Gausman has really been limited this spring and has spent the majority of time throwing in minor league games than in Grapefruit league contests. The Orioles are now considering throwing him into the bullpen, so maybe Tuesday's effort will help convince them otherwise. Analysis: Howard Bender

Victor Marinez was scratched from Friday's lineup.

Martinez was in the original lineup but then a late scratch. Expect the Tigers to update with a reason soon. Don't hit the panic button, but pay attention and make sure you find out why he's out. Analysis: Howard Bender

The Nets have signed forward Earl Clark to a 10-day contract.

With Thaddeus Young out with a knee injury, the Nets are in dire need of some frontcourt depth. Clark probably won't see much in the way of playing time and he is not someone you want in fantasy play. Analysis: Howard Bender

Denard Span is scheduled to swing a fungo in the batting cage Friday. It will be his first swings since undergoing core muscle surgery in early March.

Span's progress has been slow but steady. He isn't expected back until May and even then, hitting might be a little tough for him at first. It looks like another year where Span is worth owning but for just the second half. Analysis: Howard Bender
