Fantasy Player Updates & News  Huge Overlay: $500k MLB Championship

Jason Motte says he will throw in St. Louis Friday and Saturday, then he'll be reevaluated and a decision will be made on his next step.

Motte has tossed 4.2 scoreless innings in rehab and looks like he's fairly close to returning. While it's difficult to think the Cardinals would give up so quickly on Trevor Rosenthal, you'd have to be a fool not to think that it could happen and Motte gets an opportunity. At worse, he becomes the primary right-handed set-up man in the eighth.ANALYST: Howard Bender

Chris Heston will start on Sunday.

Heston will be recalled from Triple-A to replace Matt Cain, who is on the DL with elbow nerve irritation. Heston has a 3.34 ERA this season, and was demoted to Triple-A primarily to get some extra rest in his rookie season. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Giants placed Matt Cain on the 15-day disabled list with elbow nerve irritation.

Cain just hasn't been able to catch a break this season, as he has been limited to 52.2innings and a horrendous 6.15 ERA. He's very likely done for the season, and it's hard to see him making much of an impact next season as well, as he hasn't had a successful season in a few years now. Analysis: Ben Diamond

Corey Kluber will now start on Saturday.

After a shaky April, Kluber really salvaged his season, now maintaining a 3.43 ERA and 213 strikeouts. Expect him to continue to improve on Saturday, while finishing the season out in strong fashion throughout all of September.  Analysis: Dom Murtha

Yasiel Puig is not in the Dodgers starting lineup on Friday.

Puig is really concerned with his hamstring injury, so no surprise that he is not in the lineup tonight. Andre Ethier will get the start in right in Puig's place.  Analysis: Dom Murtha
