Coco Crisp's (neck) MRI on Friday revealed nothing out of the ordinary and he remains day-to-day.
Crisp hadn't responded to any of the treatment he received Friday, so the club was naturally concerned. With a clean MRI it would appear that Crisp will simply need a few days off as opposed to a full 15-day DL stint. Monitor him though as there was a reason the team was so concerned. They may re-think the DL stint depending on how well he responds to treatment and rest moving forward. Craig Gentry will continue to man center field while Crisp is out.ANALYST: Howard Bender
With a couple of mediocre starts this spring, major league scouts are showing concern regarding Masahiro Tanaka's velocity.
Well that's certainly turned over the last few weeks. When spring training began, there was all sorts of talk to how great Tanaka looked, but now that he's been hit around a little, most recently by the Twins, people are showing some concern. On scout did concede that it was the spring and he was willing to give Tanaka the benefit of the doubt based on last year's performance, but the growing concern is legitimate. Tanaka opted for rest and rehab for his partially-torn UCL this offseason rather than the Tommmy John surgery he likely needs. We've warned you off him these past few months, and now we're starting to hear more joining our crusade. Leave him be for your fellow owners. Maybe he starts the season strong, but how long is he going to hold up? The outlook doesn't seem good. Analysis: Howard Bender
