Jason Vargas picked up his third win after throwing seven scoreless innings and allowing just three hits with no walks and six strikeouts against the Mariners on Friday.
After surrendering 12 earned runs over his last two starts, Vargas bounced back in a big way on Friday night to the turn of a seven inning shutout. He is now 3-1 with a 3.04 ERA and 1.14 WHIP through eight starts and should continue to be productive as long as he keeps up his low walk rate (10 BB in 53.1 IP). Vargas will look to keep the ball rolling when he takes on the Orioles on Thursday.ANALYST: Matthew Beck
Henry Walker scored 12 points, grabbed nine rebounds, recorded five assists, and four steals in the Heat 99-86 loss to the Hawks on Friday night.
The artist formerly known as “Bill Walker” had one of his better performances of the season, as he stuffed the stat sheet in every conceivable fashion on Friday night. He scored 12 points, grabbed nine boards, recorded five assists, and four steals, all in the name of diversifying his efforts and tying to help the Heat get into the win column. Unfortunately the Hawks proved to be too much for Miami, as they rolled them 99-86. Only consider Walker in daily leagues, were he can be bought on the cheap. Analysis: Dom Murtha
