Jason Vargas picked up his third win after throwing seven scoreless innings and allowing just three hits with no walks and six strikeouts against the Mariners on Friday.
After surrendering 12 earned runs over his last two starts, Vargas bounced back in a big way on Friday night to the turn of a seven inning shutout. He is now 3-1 with a 3.04 ERA and 1.14 WHIP through eight starts and should continue to be productive as long as he keeps up his low walk rate (10 BB in 53.1 IP). Vargas will look to keep the ball rolling when he takes on the Orioles on Thursday.ANALYST: Matthew Beck
Luc Mbah a Moute will start at SF for the Clippers on Monday.
If fantasy owners want to use Mbah a Moute this season, this might be their only chance, as he is getting a rare spot start at small forward for the Clips on Monday night. He offers little upside as a scorer, however he is a solid rebounder and above-average defender, so he might get the job done for fantasy owners in a bind. Analysis: Dom Murtha
Kenneth Faried will start Monday against the Bucks.
Faried should be started in all fantasy formats, now that he has been given the green light to start by both the coaching and medical staffs. He proved off the bench in his last outing that he can post fantasy worthy production in even limited minutes, so his prospects should be good as a starter on Monday night against the Bucks. Robert Quinn is making progress from his back issue.
After missing Sunday's game, Quinn seems to be making steps toward's returning. Quinn is one of the game's elite pass rushers but has been slowed down by injuries all season long. Quinn is two years removed from a 19 sack season and the Rams are hoping he returns to that when he gets back on the field. Analysis: James Grande
