Jason Vargas picked up his third win after throwing seven scoreless innings and allowing just three hits with no walks and six strikeouts against the Mariners on Friday.
After surrendering 12 earned runs over his last two starts, Vargas bounced back in a big way on Friday night to the turn of a seven inning shutout. He is now 3-1 with a 3.04 ERA and 1.14 WHIP through eight starts and should continue to be productive as long as he keeps up his low walk rate (10 BB in 53.1 IP). Vargas will look to keep the ball rolling when he takes on the Orioles on Thursday.ANALYST: Matthew Beck
Tevin Coleman (ribs) will play Week 5 against Washington.
Coleman seems to have moved past his rib injury, but while he is expected to play Sunday, he will obviously play a limited role behind Devonta Freeman. The Falcons offense is firing on all cylinders right now and they don't need/want to upset the balance of things while they are on this run. Expect Coleman to work as a part-time change-of-pace back this week. Analysis: Howard Bender
Jadeveon Clowney has a walking boot on his right foot.
Clowney limped off the field late in the game while the Colts were driving down for their final touchdown of the night. He remained on the sidelines with what the Texans are saying is an ankle issue. The oft-injured Clowney will stay in the boot as a precaution and he will be re-evaluated after a couple of days. Analysis: Howard Bender
