Brandon Moss went 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBI, and a run scored against the Nationals on Friday.
Moss has now connected for two homers over his last five games, resulting in six RBI over that stretch. He is now sitting on a .267 average with six homers and 28 RBI through 116 at-bats, and should have no issues holding down a permanent spot in the Athletcis starting lineup after a sold start. Carl Crawford exited Monday night's game with tightness in his right side.
It was only a matter of time before the glass-made Crawford cracked in some capacity. It's unknown whether or not he'll need a DL stint to rid him of the tightness, but if he does Scott Van Slyke and Alex Guerrero are likely to fill in for him. Guerrero has been among the hottest hitters in baseball, in a limited role, and would become mixed league relevant if/when he finds himself in the lineup. Don Mattingly, however, doesn't appear to be Guerrero's biggest fan. Let's hope he's not pigeon-holed to pinch-hitting duties. Analysis: Spencer Silva
