Jonathan Papelbon earned his 10th save after tossing a perfect inning with one strikeout against the Mets on Friday.

Papelbon is now 10-for-11 in save chances in 2014 while holding down a 1.88 ERA and 0.98 WHIP through 14.1 innings of work. Despite struggling early on, Papelbon has been one of the most productive closers having yet to allow an earned run since April 2.ANALYST: Matthew Beck

Cowboys have waived RB Trey Williams.

After signing Williams in early November off of the Washington Redskins practice squad, Williams was released by the Cowboys on Monday. Williams is a rookie out of Texas A&M and has yet to make his NFL debut. Good thing he's young, I'm sure he'll get a crack at a new job somewhere soon. Analysis: James Grande

Patriots have released Chris Harper.

The undrafted rookie wide-out was released Monday. Not even a full day after Harper muffed punt, early in the fourth quarter which gave the Broncos all the momentum. Harper choked in his first opportunity in the national spotlight and is now looking for a new job because of it. Analysis: James Grande

Sacramento Kings list DeMarcus Cousins as probable for Monday's game against Dallas.

Cousins has missed the last three games due to a bad back but is going to return to action on Monday. Cousins has already missed 8-of-18 games this season. He's averaging 27.9 points and 11.2 rebounds so far this season. He's one of the league's elite talents but has always had trouble staying on the floor. Analysis: James Grande

Coach Bruce Arians said Monday that rookie David Johnson looks like the starter at RB for now.

Chris Johnson and Andre Ellington have been ineffective for the most part over the past couple of weeks and now are both dealing with injuries, Johnson a bruised knee and Ellington has turf toe. David Johnson has been getting some carries, notably the goal line attempts, recently so the expanded should only add to his value. Analysis: Matt Selz

Dexter McCluster (knee) will do some running in practice this week.

When he sustained the injury he was considered week-to-week and has already missed one game. It doesn't sound promising that he will be ready in time for the showdown with the Jaguars in Week 13 either. In his place expect David Cobb to continue to be the backup/spell for Antonio Andrews in the crowded and mostly unproductive Tennessee backfield. Analysis: Matt Selz

Ty Montgomery (ankle) did not practice on Monday.

Montgomery has been out since Week 6 with the ankle injury and according to Head Coach Mike McCarthy he hasn't made any progress. Only once since leaving the game early on October 18th has the wideout practiced in full and that doesn't appear close to happening again. Until he is able to go a couple of practices in a row, Green Bay will keep rolling with the lineup they have. Analysis: Matt Selz

Update: Rob Gronkowski is likely to miss multiple weeks and a return date will be a pain tolerance issue.

The results of the MRI came back earlier today and initially it was good news considering there were no tears involved but now it appears he will miss a couple of weeks. Scott Chandler will become the number one tight end for New England in the meantime and an already depleted receiving core loses even more weapons. Analysis: Matt Selz

Coach Chuck Pagano says RB Frank Gore is beat up after Sunday's game.

It's not uncommon to hear this about Gore given his running style of trying to look for contact. He has been dealing with nagging muscle injuries for a few weeks now and because of that he has been splitting carries pretty evenly with Ahmad Bradshaw over that time. Until he is deemed fully healthy, he makes for a risky play in fantasy formats especially with playoffs on the line. Analysis: Matt Selz

Dolphins WR Rishard Matthews suffered multiple fractured ribs Week 12 against the Jets.

Tannehill threw a crossing route behind Matthews who subsequently got crushed by Calvin Pryor in the ribs and was forced out of the game. Matthews is surely out for a while with the broken ribs but there is officially no timetable for his return. Greg Jennings and Kenny Stills are the likely beneficiary of his absence. Analysis: Matt Selz

Mets officials plan to have the arbitration-eligible Jenrry Mejia remain a part of the organization for next season rather than non-tender him at Wednesday's deadline.

Mejia was a huge disappoint in 2015 due to being suspended twice for PED's and will now miss 100 games in 2016 to finish off the suspension. With his games missed, the Mets will only owe him a max of $1 million this coming season which could be worth it if he is a very good setup man for a third of the season. Either way he is of no interest on draft day. Analysis: Matt Selz

Coach Chip Kelly said Monday that Sam Bradford will practice on Tuesday and the Eagles will need to see how Bradford's shoulder responds.

Mark Sanchez has been less than spectacular in his two starts since Bradford went down and if Bradford is at least mostly healthy, he should be in the conversation against the Patriots. If Bradford can return in Week 13 it will boost the offensive players around him but only slightly as it's a tough matchup in Foxboro. Analysis: Matt Selz

Charles Tillman (knee) said he hopes to return Week 13 against New Orleans.

Peanut has missed two games with the hyperextended knee but if they can get him back for Week 13, the rich will get richer. Carolina just signed Cortland Finnegan out of "retirement" as insurance for Tillman but it's not likely he'll be ready to go this coming week. With Tillman and Norman on the field the Panthers have arguably the best corner tandem in the league. Analysis: Matt Selz

Athletics outright LHP Fernando Abad and OF Craig Gentry to Triple-A Nashville.

Both Abad and Gentry had horrible 2015 season's and have now been shipped down on the farm to Nashville for the time being. They will likely make an appearance in Spring Training for the A's but are both probably long shots to make the roster unless they have great springs. Analysis: Matt Selz

Browns Johnny Manziel will be active for Monday Night football.

There has been a lot of talk about Johnny Manziel this week after the revelations about the video and his lying about it came to light following the teams bye week. Josh McCown is the starter and Manziel should be relegated to clipboard for at least this week but probably longer so his fantasy value this year is very limited at this point. Analysis: Matt Selz

Bills released LB A.J. Tarpley.

He is now a candidate to be stashed on the Buffalo on practice squad after playing in all 11 games for the Bills this year. It will also open up a roster spot to help fill an injury riddled roster. Analysis: Matt Selz
