Giancarlo Stanton went 1-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, a run scored and a walk against the Padres on Thursday.
Stanton blasted his four home run in his last 10 games on Thursday night, bringing his season total to 11 with 40 RBI while supporting a .294 average. There has been little to complain about with his production in the early going and as long as he can stay off the trainer's table he will continue to be on pace for a career-year so sit back and enjoy the ride. Titans head coach Mike Mularkey said the team is giving Marcus Mariota more chances to run the football.
One of the bigger surprises this fantasy season has been the lack of running by Mariota, considering he came from a read option offense in Oregon. However, the rookie quarterback has still been a solid fantasy option despite the lack of running, so this will give a slight boost to his value if he is able to churn out a few yards on the ground. It’s always a tough situation when quarterbacks run more as they open themselves up for injury, but the Titans must feel confident that Mariota will know how to protect himself when he decides to take off and run.
