With the No. 23 pick in the NFL draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select Auburn DE Dee Ford.
Ford capped a great career at the University of Auburn with two sacks of FSU's Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Jameson Winston in the BCS title game and followed that up by being named Defensive MVP of the Senior Bowl. Ford will add another pass rusher to a Chiefs defense that continues to get better and better and is coming off a season where they were 3rd in the AFC in team sacks. While many of the defensive players selected ahead of Ford in this draft, after the top two big names, Ford seems to be more polished with some upside and may make for a safer player to target in your IDP rookie drafts.ANALYST: Michael Pichan
Dallas Cowboys are hold off on placing Tony Romo on Injured Reserve in hopes of still making the playoffs.
Oh Jerry. Look, the most reductive outlook you could possibly have on Dallas' playoff chances is that the Cowboys are only two games out of the division lead. But that's ignoring the fact that they're also tied for the worst record in NFC and just one win better that the two worst teams in the league. If the Cowboys were smart, they'd be taking the perspective that they have a very, very good shot of getting a great draft pick. But it sounds like they're taking an approach that's going to cost them draft slots on the belief that Matt Cassel is leading them to the playoff. Freakin' Jerry. Analysis: Brett Talley
Chandler Parsons is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game.
Parsons has been sitting out in back-to-backs this season and will apparently continue to do so for now. The last time Parsons sat, Dirk, Felton, Williams and Matthews all played over 35 minutes, and no other bench guys saw even 20 minutes in Parsons' absence. So if you're looking for an uptick in usage for any Mavs, you should probably count on the other starters getting the extra work. Analysis: Brett Talley
