Josh Hamilton (thumb) said he expects to be back with the team by May 23rd, but if not then definitely by May 26th.
The Angels expect Hamilton to start hitting off a tee as early as Friday, which is the next step in his recovery from a thumb injury. As long as he doesn't suffer any setbacks expect him to be back in the lineup at the end of May and hopefully it won't take long for him to get going after a solid start pre-thumb injury. Marc Krauss went 1-for-4 with a solo home run on Thursday in Toronto.
Krauss is hitting only .150 with a .350 slugging percentage after launching his first home run of the season. It was just his seventh game of the season, but there’s no doubt he’ll need to cut down on the strikeouts if he’s ever going to be able to showcase the decent pop he has. The left-handed hitter was called up from AAA to try and infuse some offense in Anaheim and was slugging .639 over his past 10 games. With Matt Joyce really struggling, expect Krauss to steal some of his at-bats over the next few weeks. Analysis: Kevin Luchansky
