Glen Perkins picked up his 8th save of the season on Sunday as he pitched a scoreless ninth allowing one hit with one strikeout as the Twins defeated the Orioles 5-2.
Perkins is now 7-for-8 in save chances in 2014 and has allowed only one earned run over his last 10.0 innings of relief as he continues to be one of the better closers to own in the American League. As long as he continues to limit his walks (3 BB) while striking out batters at a high rate (13.15 K/9) there is no reason to think this hot start won't continue. He is as safe as they come as a ninth inning option moving forward. ANALYST: Matthew Beck
Paul Millsap does not need surgery on his shoulder, just rest.
After the Hawks were eliminated from the NBA Playoffs, it was reported he could need surgery on his sprained right shoulder. Millsap will head into the offseason as a free agent and he is reportedly undecided about how he will conduct his summer. He didn't play well in the playoffs, although it's tough to know how much the shoulder affected his play. Analysis: Spencer Silva
Blue Jays optioned RHP Scott Copeland to Triple-A Buffalo.
Copeland didn't pitch during his short stint back with the club, but recorded three scoreless innings in a previous stint earlier this month. At 27, he's not much of a prospect in spite of having strong success in the International League in 2015. He could eventually establish himself as a swingman for the Jays in the near future.
