Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network spoke to people who know Texans GM Rick Smith well, and he no longer believes it’s a certainty that Jadeveon Clowney would be their first pick.
The Texans have shown uncertainty leading up to the NFL Draft, and if they plan on passing on Clowney, the team will likely trade the top pick to acquire a handful of picks for both this year's and future drafts. While this move may seem a bit wild to some, we have seen teams in the past be able to rebuild making moves like this. Then again who knows the next time a player like Clowney will be on the board.
