Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network spoke to people who know Texans GM Rick Smith well, and he no longer believes it’s a certainty that Jadeveon Clowney would be their first pick.
The Texans have shown uncertainty leading up to the NFL Draft, and if they plan on passing on Clowney, the team will likely trade the top pick to acquire a handful of picks for both this year's and future drafts. While this move may seem a bit wild to some, we have seen teams in the past be able to rebuild making moves like this. Then again who knows the next time a player like Clowney will be on the board. Lions placed CB Alex Carter on injured reserve.
It is now officially a lost season for the rookie. He was placed on short-term IR to begin the season, and is now done for the year. He has no stats, and while he says he is healthy, the fact remains that he is too far behind after missing the first nine weeks of the season with the IR/Designated to Return status to open the season. Redskins are working out CB AL Louis-Jean on Tuesday.
He played in nine games with the Bears in 2014, but was released this season out of training camp, having failed to impress the new coaching regime in Chicago. He has decent size at 6'1" for a cornerback, and also flashes good speed for coverage. At present, you do not need to put him on your IDP radar, unless he is signed to the 53-man roster instead of the practice squad. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson
