Jose Calderon suffered a broken nose in the second half of Game 6 on Friday against the Spurs. He will play in Game 7.
Calderon appeared to have taken an elbow or a forearm to the nose which prompted it to bleed immediately and drip all over the court. He sat on a the bench for a few until the bleeding stopped and he went right back in. He'll throw a little tape on the snout and he should be good to go for Game 7. ANALYST: Howard Bender
Kevin Gausman (shoulder) threw 32 pitches in a two-inning simulated game.
With the success Gausman has seen during the simulated game, the Orioles are ready to push forward with his rehab assignment. Right now, he will head to High-A Frederick on Saturday and, barring any setbacks, he's scheduled to start for Double-A Bowie on June 11. He is expected to throw 60-to-65 pitches before he's activated from the DL. There's been some talk of him being stretched out to rejoin the rotation, but nothing has been decided as of yet. Prince Shembo went through waivers unclaimed.
It's not that no one needs him, it's that no one wants him. He's been charged with animal cruelty and is accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend's dog. Let's hope he never plays an NFL down ever again. This guy's a piece of crap. Even if he's found innocent, what kind of a person is he anyway that everyone involved would believe him capable of such disgustingness. Total garbage. Analysis: Howard Bender
