Mets manager Terry Collins said Josh Satin will start Friday's game or Saturday's game, if not both.
Those buying into the Lucas Duda as a full-time first baseman are getting their first taste of the lies. He's a career .219 hitter against lefties. Maybe the Mets aren't think championship run here and can sacrifice a little with Duda at first all season, but common sense soon takes over and now we have Josh Satin getting work this weekend because the Mets are facing two lefties to open the Colorado series. If you have been running with Duda full-time, you better start making alternative plans. He could be back to the platoon in no time.ANALYST: Howard Bender
Phillies recalled Cody Asche from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
The Phillies seem ready to commit to Asche as their new starting left fielder which certainly gums up the outfield configuration for veterans like Ben Revere, Grady Sizemore and Jeff Francoeur. It also displaces Darin Ruf. While they may be happy with the defensive work he did down in the minors, Asche's bat never really heated up, so the team is still going to have some serious offensive woes. This plan may have looked good on paper, but it should be re-visited in a couple of weeks to see how things are panning out. Analysis: Howard Bender
