Fantasy Player Updates & News  Season Long, 3 Stage Fantasy Football Competition

Jason Motte is scheduled to start his rehab on Sunday.

Even when Motte is ready to return he will only be relevant in leagues that count holds as he will slide into a set up role upon his return. ANALYST: Michael Pichan

The Browns place Michael Bowie (shoulder) and Connor Shaw (thumb) on injured reserve.

Bowie will miss the entire season and has yet to see a down in the NFL after being drafted in 2013 by Seattle. Analysis: Rob Trayah

The Yankees recalled INF/OF Jose Pirela from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Pirela will add depth to the second base position and will pop into the lineup here and there. Don't expect a huge jump in production as he wills till battle Stephen Drew for playing time. Analysis: Rob Trayah

The Yankees recalled RHP Caleb Cotham from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Cotham had a 2.21 ERA in 35 appearances between Double and Triple-A this season. Don't see him getting much fantasy relevance outside of an inning here or there. Analysis: Rob Trayah

The Yankees purchased the contract of C Austin Romine from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Romine will become the third catcher behind Brian McCann and J.R. Murpy after being called-up for the roster expansions. He will be used in defensive situations and not add any sort of fantasy value. Analysis: Rob Trayah

The Yankees purchased the contract of OF Rico Noel from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Noel is a depth add as he is essentially a zero when it comes to offense. Don't expect any fantasy value to come of the call-up. Analysis: Rob Trayah

The Yankees purchased the contract of LHP James Pazos from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Pazos will be a part of the 40-man call-ups and be a part of the Yankees bullpen as a long-man. He was 3-1 in 21 starts with a 1.09 ERA out of the bullpen. Analysis: Rob Trayah

The Patriots have made a trade with the Saints for wide receiver/return specialist Jalen Saunders in exchange for a draft pick.

The Patriots have found their new punt returner in Saunders as they've sent a conditional pick to New Orleans before cuts are made. He has been around the NFL since being drafted last year, but could be a nice return option for the Pats, albeit with little fantasy relevance. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Mike Evans (hamstring) did not participate in practice Monday.

Evans and his hamstring will be a popular topic as the season approaches. He was outstanding last year as he made 68 receptions with 1,051 yards and 12 touchdowns. Alongside Vincent Jackson, Evans makes a great 1-2 combo for new Bucs QB Jameis Winston. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Buccaneers have released punter Michael Koenen.

It appears Jake Schum has won the job in Tampa Bay after Koenen had spent the past four seasons in Tampa Bay. The 10-year vet will look to latch on with another team as cuts are being made across the league. Analysis: Rob Trayah

The Panthers cut Melvin White.

White has spent his last two seasons in Carolina, but will have to find a new team to play for after being released as part of the 75-man roster cuts. He has three total interceptions in his two years of experience. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Branden Albert says his knee is fine, but his conditioning needs work.

Albert looks on pace to be ready for Week 1 as he believes his knee is ready to go, he just needs his overall conditioning to be cleaned up. He will help out the Dolphins' offensive line for sure, but only if he can prove he will be healthy. Analysis: Rob Trayah
