Clippers owner Donald Sterling has been suspended for life and fined $2.5 million.
As I noted earlier, Adam Silver promised a quick investigation and I expected him to penalize Sterling as harshly as possible and did he ever. I personally want to commend him on taking the action needed and let everyone know that these type actions will not be tolerated. Tracy Wolfson of CBS Sports just tweeted, "Wizards staying at my hotel. Cheers just came from a room nearby after Silver made his announcement". I expect that's the reaction of just about everyone in the NBA today. ANALYST: Drew Phelps
Manager John Farrell has named Edward Mujica the closer to start the season.
This is a strange decision. Sure, Uehara struggled down the stretch last year, but his final numbers for 2014 were still great. He struck out more than 30 percent of batters faced and walked virtually no one. Mujica, on the other hand, has had a below average strikeout rate for three years running. Don't pay anything of consequence for Mujica, and Uehara is a guy to target if you have deep enough roster settings to hold on to him for a bit. Analysis: Brett Talley
Rougned Odor left Sunday's game with a bruised left shin.
Thankfully, this doesn't sound like anything to be concerned about. Odor had a very respectable debut last year as 20-year old, hitting .259 with nine home runs in just over 400 plate appearances. With a full season of work, he could approach 15 home runs, and his batting average could improve given how frequently he made contact last year. The future is bright for Odor. Analysis: Brett Talley
