Reds hope to have Mat Latos throwing off the mound within a week.
While rehabbing his knee, Latos ended up straining the flexor mass in his forearm which shut him down completely. He's been throwing off flat ground and just started playing catch last week. He should throw off a mound soon and manager Bryan Price said that he would only need two or three bullpen sessions before facing live hitters. He's still a couple of weeks away though. The Rangers released Ryan Ludwick on Sunday.
Ludwick was notified a couple days back that he would not be making the big-league team and was allowed to search for another team. He has struggled in Spring Training and hasn't been able to get over the .700 OPS mark the last two seasons. The Rangers will look internally to create outfield options for the 2015 season.
