Justin Morneau went 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored against the Dodgers on Sunday and is now batting .356 on the season.
Morneau has been a great addition to the Rockies lineup in the early going and is now sitting on a .356 average with five homers and 19 RBI through his first 90 at-bats. The Rockies could not have ask for more from their veteran first baseman, who has battled a slue of injuries over the last few seasons. Although it is hard to imagine he will keep up the pace, the friendly confines of Coors Field will remedy any cold streak it one was to occur. ANALYST: Matthew Beck
Yankees grant RHP Scott Baker his unconditional release.
Baker was enjoying a serviceable career when he was with the Twins, but Tommy John surgery in 2012 derailed his career. He has yet to return to that form he exhibited when he was a starter in Minnesota and the Yankees have released the 33-year old. Baker could get signed by a team who believes that they can jump start his spiraling career. Analysis: Colby Conway
